At the request of our members and just in time for the warm weather months, Associated Skin Care Professionals (ASCP) now offers liability coverage for Brazilian waxing. There will be no additional charge to members for this additional liability coverage. Members need to submit proof of their training in Brazilian waxing to ASCP, if you are providing these services (see “Proof of Training” below).

ASCP member surveys have indicated that far from being a fad, Brazilian waxing is growing in popularity and many members want to make this service available to their clients. Some spas and salons are requiring estheticians to perform this service in order to be hired. To meet this need in the marketplace, ASCP is adding this coverage as a member benefit.

Proof of Training: If you are unable to supply proof of formal training, this does NOT mean you are not covered by our liability insurance. We understand that a number of our members have been providing this service for years. Others were trained in Brazilians as part of their core curriculum at their skin care school; learned from a training DVD; were taught years ago by another esthetician; attended a workshop at a trade show, etc. These are all acceptable forms of training and there is no need to submit formal documentation in these circumstances, as it probably doesn't exist. However, we do ask that you advise us that you are providing Brazilian services and what method of training makes you competent to provide this service. Members who have taken an advanced education course and/or were given a certificate stating they have completed Brazilian training should submit that certificate to ASCP.
