Who can join?
To join ASCP, if you practice in a state that regulates esthetics or skin care, you must have a valid, current license from that state. If you practice in a state that does not regulate esthetics or skin care, you must have a cosmetology license or certificate of skin care training from a state-approved program. What does it cost?
Annual membership at the Skin Care Professional level costs $259. Estheticians who also practice massage therapy can join both ASCP and ABMP for a single cost of $259 and receive benefits from both associations. For skin care students, two levels of student membership ($59 and $39) are available.

• Professional liability insurance protecting you for $2 million per occurrence and $6 million total per policy. This coverage is per member, per year. Brazilian waxing coverage is included. Coverage for providers of Intense Pulsed Light treatment is not included. However, ASCP has established a resource for members interested in obtaining IPL coverage. • Online referral service. You’ll be listed in our searchable directory, where consumers looking for a skin care professional can find ASCP members in their area.
• Continuing educational resources. An online guide to advanced educational opportunities. ASCP also provides a nationwide directory of Esthetician Schools, which may also offer continuing education.
• Skin Deep. Our bimonthly publication provides information on techniques, ingredients, trends, and more.
• Successful Business Handbook. A common sense guide to building and sustaining a practice.
• Membership documentation, including a membership certificate, ethics certificate, and member identification card.
• Legislative support and advocacy to keep you up to speed on any changes that affect your practice and livelihood.
