Looking for a little help to get through school? Applications are now open for the 2017 Murad Esthetics Scholarship. Aspiring estheticians and skin care professionals are encouraged to apply for a scholarship through March 27. Launched in 2015 as the first scholarship administered by the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation exclusively for esthetic students, the 2017 Murad Esthetics Scholarship will award 10 scholarships to students enrolled in an esthetics program at a qualified skin care, esthetics or beauty school. Each winner will receive a $2,250 tuition scholarship along with a Murad skin care kit valued at $500 and the opportunity to learn from a Murad mentor. The program is generously funded by Murad.
BCL│Murad scholarship winners are selected by a judging panel comprised of professional skin care authorities including estheticians, educators, and product formulators. Judges consider applicants’ creativity, innovative perspective, passion for the esthetics industry, and ability to communicate. Applicants are encouraged to get creative with their submissions and submit a three-minute online video or inspiration board that conveys their passion for the professional skin care industry and how they aspire to change lives through a career in esthetics. In addition to establishing and funding the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation’s initial esthetics scholarship, Murad also created a limited edition “Live Beautifully” retail product in 2015, and donated 10 percent of the retail sales price to the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation. Founder Howard Murad, MD FAAD, was awarded the 2016 Legacy Award by the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation for his efforts in advancing skin care education. Recognizing the role mentorship plays in the professional journey, Murad was also an early sponsor of Beauty Changes Lives mentoring programs. “We are humbled by the generous support Dr. Murad and the Murad brand continue to provide the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation through the priceless gift of education, mentoring and product donation,” said Lynelle Lynch, president of the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation. “We are excited to continue our partnership with the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation,” said Dr. Howard Murad, founder of Murad. “Through our unique Connected Beauty philosophy, we encourage people everywhere to lead happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives, and the foundation and scholarship provide students the resources to achieve their full potential.” More information on scholarships administered by the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation is available at www.beautychangeslives.org.
