New Hampshire Bill Seeks to Deregulate Some Cosmetology Services—Voice Your Opinion Before February 8, 2022

House Bill 1171 (HB 1171) was introduced this legislative session and, in its current form, will deregulate hairstyling, eyelash extensions, and makeup application services. ASCP, AHP, and ANP filed a letter in opposition to HB 1171 to encourage the House Executive Departments and Administration Committee to amend the bill to keep these specialized services within the definition of cosmetology.

There is a hearing on February 8, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. EST in the Legislative Office Building. We encourage you to comment on HB 1171 before February 8, 2022, and send an email to your legislators.
