A three-day weekend is always good reason to celebrate, but estheticians have another reason jump for joy: Our wonderful industry had a good first quarter in 2017. According to a recent survey by the International Spa Association (ISPA), the majority of respondents reported a jump in gross revenue, gross profits, spa visits and retail performance compared to the same period in 2016.
The survey found that 78 percent of respondents reported growth at some level. Gross profits compared to the first quarter of 2016 was also promising, with 77 percent of all spa respondents reporting growth in their gross profits. Respondents also reported that spa visits were up for the ninth consecutive quarter.
