Washington Advisory Board Vacancies

There are currently five vacancies on the Washington Cosmetology, Barbering, Esthetics, Manicuring and  Hair Design Advisory Board. If you are interested in serving on the Advisory Board and believe you meet the qualifications, please complete the application form (https://www.dol.wa.gov/forms/600004A.pdf) before the March 8, 2020 deadline. The Advisory Board is seeking to fill the following positions:

  1. Master Esthetician Licensee
    Must be a currently practicing master esthetician who has been engaged in the practice of master esthetics for at least three years.
     
  2. Barber Licensee
    Must be a currently practicing licensee who has been engaged in the practice of barbering for at least three years.
     
  3. Vocational Schools Representative
    Must be affiliated with a licensed public vocational technical school of cosmetology, barbering, manicuring and esthetics.
     
  4. Manicurist Licensee
    Must be a currently practicing licensee who has been engaged in the practice of manicuring for at least three years.
     
  5. Cosmetologist Licensee
    Must be a currently practicing licensee who has been engaged in the practice of cosmetology for at least three years.

The board has varied responsibilities including studying and analyzing existing policy, programs, and services to make recommendations for change in standards; interpreting community opinions, attitudes, and needs to agencies, the Legislature, and the Governor; and providing the public with information and interpretation of Department and state policies, programs, and budgets.
